Remedy Entertainment is a Finnish game developer known for story-driven action games such as CONTROL, Alan Wake and Max Payne.
CONTROL Resonant continues that approach. The game follows Dylan Faden through a warped Manhattan, where paranormal forces reshape the city and the rules of reality keep shifting. Its world sits between brutalist architecture, supernatural fiction and the uneasy logic of the New Weird.
For the Gamescom Opening Night Live trailer, Remedy wanted a licensed song with a recognisable melody, enough energy to build the edit around and an unexpected angle that still felt uniquely Remedy. We started with creative music research, building longlists and shortlists around the brief, the game and the practical clearance conditions.
The final choice was “Omen” by The Prodigy. Its hard electronic pulse gives the trailer a direct physical drive, while its connection to British rave culture adds a sharp cultural reference to the strange, high-pressure world of CONTROL Resonant.
We then handled the master and publishing negotiations and cleared 100% of both rights for worldwide digital use of the Gamescom Opening Night Live launch trailer.
