Building a K-pop identity for Supercell’s newest monster hunter
For the introduction of MIN, the newest specialist in Supercell’s mo.co, we worked on “Hunt You Nonstop (I’m On Top Now)”, performed by Neckwav.
MIN lives in two worlds. He’s a K-pop superstar, but when monsters appear, he’s the first to step through the portal. The music had to make both sides of that character feel equally convincing.
Rather than treating the track as a piece of trailer music, the goal was to create something that could stand on its own as a contemporary K-pop release while remaining completely rooted in the world of mo.co.
Neckwav was a natural fit for the project. Following their work on “Your Idol” and “Soda Pop” from KPop Demon Hunters, they brought a strong understanding of how music can shape a fictional artist without losing the qualities that make people want to listen outside the game.
Projects like this show how music can extend a game’s world beyond the screen. A well-crafted track doesn’t just support a launch campaign. It gives players another way to connect with a character and keeps the world alive long after the trailer has finished.
